Mind and Heart

Outside my window

In the night sky

The clouds are swaying

Like an old black and white movie

They put my mind to sleep

So my heart can elope

With my dreams

Crouched outside

The clouds still swaying

Watch the lovers fade

Into dawn

And then I wake up

With a start

feeling bereft

Asking for whereabouts

"I have lost my heart"

I say

"Have you lost your mind!"

They scoff !
